There are numerous attractions and unique beaches for the visitor to enjoy throughout its length and breadth. One of its important advantages is the number of its settlements. Traditional or modern, on the beach or inland, the villages of the island win the impressions of the visitor.

Dozens of sights will be encountered by the visitor of the island in its more than 56 settlements. Venetian castles, historical monuments from the time of the Venetian occupation, magnificent caves, ravines with waterfalls, wonderful beaches at the ends of gorges, all-night places of worship and much more that compose the exceptional diversity of Kythera.
Most are easily accessible by good roads but of course there is much more for the “daring” landscape explorers of Greece.
One of the most important advantages of the island is the wealth of its hinterland. Small picturesque villages and settlements exist in its entirety and are a folklore treasure for the visitor, since this place managed to remain pure over time.
Be sure to visit the Venetian castle of Chora, the waterfall of Mylopotamos, the fishing village of Avlaimonas and the lighthouse in Moudari of Karavas.

The extensive network of trails that connects the more than 60 settlements of Kythera, makes the island a unique traveling paradise. Wonderful routes through verdant ravines with springs, on rugged paths that lead to dreamy beaches, old bridges and mills make the visitor feel like he is walking in time.
The magic of the rich seabed of Kythera is highlighted through underwater diving. Beautiful corals and rock formations are revealed, while a wonderful underwater world embraces and calms the visitor, thanks to the loss of gravity. Many of the underwater sea caves of Kythera are still unexplored. In Kythira there is an organized Scuba diving school.
The sea of Kythera is also suitable for water sports such as Skiing, Windsurfing, Sailing, Canoeing, sea kayaking, etc.
Finally, it is very interesting to take a boat trip to the deserted beaches of the island or to visit the sea cave of the rocky islet of X (or Egg).
